​The Sejong Institute held its second Policy Forum on the topic of “Prospects of North Korea's advanced nuclear and missile capabilities and the new government's international and domestic strategies​” at the Somerset Palace located in Seoul on March 23 (Wednesday). 

The forum began with the opening speech of President Lee Sang Hyun of the Sejong Institute. Cheong Seong-Chang​, Director of the Center for North Korean Studies of the Sejong Institute, moderated sessions. The first session was themed "Prospects of North Korea's advanced nuclear and missile capabilities and the new government's international strategies" and the second session was themed "the new government's strategy for dealing with North Korea's nuclear issue and the direction of its bipartisan policy toward North Korea."

Jang Chul-Woon, Research Fellow at the Korea Institute for National Unification​, Woo Jung-Yeop, Research Fellow at the Sejong Institute, and Park Byung-Kwang, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for National Security Strategy​, presented during the first session. During the second session, Huh Tae-geun, Director of the Research Institute for Economy and Society , Jun Bong-geun, Visiting Research Fellow at the Sejong Institute, and Kim Byung-ro, Professor at the Institute for Peace and Unification Studies, Seoul National University​  discussed under the theme of "the new government's strategy for dealing with North Korea's nuclear issue and the direction of its bipartisan policy toward North Korea​." All the attendees debated enthusiastically.

Observers of the forum included Kim Jungsup, vice president of the Sejong Institute, Kim Sungkoo, Visiting Research Fellow at the Sejong Institute, and Ham Hyun-pil, Director for Defense Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs​. They broadened the scope of the debate.

- Kim Byung-Ro (Institute for Peace and Unification Studies, Seoul National University​​), "A new political challenge to promote bipartisan policies toward North Korea​"​
