On June 22 (Wednesday) 10:00~12:00, the 5th Sejong Defense Forum was held at the Seoul Seminar Room of the Somerset palace Hotel under the theme of "the 7th North Korean nuclear test and the task of South Korea-U.S. deterrence strategy." At the forum, Jang Hyuk, former presidential secretary for national security policy, and Kim Jungsup, Vice President of the Sejong Institute, stated their views under the moderation of Lim Sung-nam, non-resident fellow at the Sejong Institute and a forver vice foreign minister.

The forum was conducted in a way that the presenter answered questions from the host, unlike previous forums that held discussions after presentations. Research Fellow Lim Sung-nam raised six questions about North Korea's prospects for its seventh nuclear test, the purpose of its seventh nuclear test, concerns about North Korea's nuclear doctrine and decoupling, extended deterrence, and the relocation of tactical nuclear weapons on the Korean Peninsula.

After the question and answer session between the host and the discussant, general discussions continued. In the general discussion, the military, government officials, media and military experts continued to discuss in depth.
