Sejong Special Policy Forum

The Sejong Institute, a leading private think tank in the field of unification, foreign affairs and security held the 'Sejong Special Policy Forum' under the theme of "9.19 South-North Korea's Militery Agreement Suspension and North Korea's Abolishment of the Agreement" from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. on Monday at the Sapphire Ballroom at the Lotte Hotel.

 

Yong-Joon Lee, Chairman of the Institute pointed out in his opening speech that the problems of the 9.19 Military Agreement have been continuously pointed out, and finally, the government's decision made a progress, and that the understanding and support from the public and experts are now important. He also hoped that today's forum would be a helpful, and expressed gratitude to the scholars who attended the Forum.

 

Discussion was moderated by former Joint Chiefs of Staff Seung-jo Chung, and discussion was held by Ho-ryeong Lee, a senior researcher at the KIDA, presented "the contents and problems of the 9.19 Military Agreement," and Wook Yang, a researcher at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies, presented "the evaluation about the measures toward 9.19 Agreement and the North Korea's withdrawal"​
