2019 Hiroshima Conference on the ROK-Japan Relations, co-hosted by the Sejong Institute and the Korea Foundation (KF) and sponsored by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Hiroshima, was held under the theme of “Security and Peace in Northeast Asia and the ROK-Japan Cooperation” on June 13, 2019 at the Hiroshima International Conference Hall. This conference had its purpose of making experts of Japanese universities and policy makers of diverse prefecture to realize the importance of Korea-Japan relations as well as encouraging Japan's cooperation on the establishment of favorable public opinion toward Korea and Korea's policy on Northeast Asian order in preparation for national unification. Chairman Baek Jong Chun of the Sejong Institute, Planning Cooperation Director Kang Young-pil of KF, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Hiroshima Kim Sun-pyo, Director Ryo Oshiba of Hiroshima Peace Institute, Director Fumihiko Yoshida of Research Center for Nuclear Weapons Abolition and other experts of Korea-Japan relations participated in the disscussion of the denuclearization of North Korea and the prospects for Korea-Japan relations.
