From July 10 to 13, the Sejong Institute held the “2019 ROK-China Think Tank Strategy Forum” at China Foundation for International and Strategic Studies.
This forum was held to discuss possible methods to establish peace and achieve denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula and to explore multilateral cooperation in Northeast Asia. Experts from the Sejong Institute, including President Paik Haksoon, Vice President of Research Planning Division Cheong Seong-Chang, other Chinese experts of the Institute, Ambassador for Public Diplomacy Chang Jae-bok, Former Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs Wi Sung-lac, Former ROK Ambassador for Northeast Asia Cooperation Chung Sang-ki, Former National Security Office (NSO) 2nd Vice Chief Kim Ki-jung, and a number of other government officials and experts attended to meet with Former Chinese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Fu Ying, International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Vice Minister Yu Hongjun and other experts from China's representative think tanks, including the China Institute of International Affairs (CIIS) and Shanghai Institute for International Studies (SIIS), for in-depth discussions on the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, ROK-China relations, and three-party relations between Korea-US-China and ROK-DPRK-China.
