On September 5, the Sejong Institute held the 2018 Korea-Mongolia Strategic Dialogue at Institute for Strategic Studies (ISS) in Mongolia. As part of establishing the public-private network for the 2018 Northeast Asia Platform for Peace and Cooperation project led by the ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the dialogue enabled the participants to discuss South Korea’s New Northern Policy and Mongolia’s Steppe Road Initiative. Sejong Institute’s President Paik Haksoon, Dr. Cheong Seong-chang (Vice President for Research Planning, the Sejong Institute), Visiting Research Fellow Hwang Jaejun (the Sejong Institute), ISS fellows and foreign ministry officials of both countries chipped in their thoughts on the policy programs of the two countries.
