SUBJECT: North Korean Food Crisis and Problem Solution

The Sejong Institute hosted a North Korea Policy Symposium in the Imperial Palace Hotel in Seoul on November 25, 2010, to discuss North Korean food crisis and problem solution. The symposium started with Dr. Dae-sung Song's opening address (President of the Sejong Institute) and Ki-taek Lee's keynote speech (Senior Vice Chairman of the Democratic Peaceful Unification Advisory Council). The main topic discussed at this symposium was North Korean food crisis, North Korean intimidation to receive South Korean support, and public feeling how to deal with this situation. The symposium proceeded with two panels and one special session to listen to North Korean defectors. The participants exchanged heated question and answer because this symposium was held right after North Korean artillery attack on Yeonpyeong Island on the west coast.
