On August 22, the Sejong Institute held a roundtable discussion with Korean and Chinese experts at Center for Inter-Korean Studies of Yanbian University on the topic of “Enhancing Mutual Strategic Trust and Establishing Common Perception” between the two sides. The roundtable discussion was comprised of three sessions, “Anti-globalization Trend and New Challenges for ROK-China Relations,” “New Environment of International Cooperation in Northeast Asia and New Opportunities for ROK-China Relations,” and “New Thoughts on Tradition-Sharing and Future-Oriented Humanities Exchanges between Korea and China." Sejong Institute’s President Paik Haksoon, Dr. Cheong Seong-chang (Vice President for Research Planning, the Sejong Institute), Dr. Yang Un-chul (Director, Center for North Korea Studies at the Sejong Institute), Director Lee Seong-hyon (Department of Unification Strategy Studies, the Sejong Institute), Research Fellow Chung Jaehung(the Sejong Institute), Choi Wankyu (former President, University of North Korean Studies), Choi Jung-il (former ROK ambassador to India and Germany), Chancellor Jin Xiong of Yanbian University and Editor-in-chief Hu Xijin of Huanqiu Shibao (Global Times), and Piao Cankui of Yanbian University participated in the discussion.
