Sejong National Strategy Forum: The Inter-Korean Summit in 2018 and the Strategy to Dismantle the Cold War Structure Surrounding the Korean Peninsula

On Thursday, April 12, the Sejong Institute held the Sejong National Strategy Forum jointly with the Presidential Committee on Policy Planning on the topic of “The Inter-Korean Summit in 2018 and the Strategy to Dismantle the Cold War Structure Surrounding the Korean Peninsula.” The forum began with the introductory remarks by President Jin Chang Soo of the Sejong Institute and Chairperson Jung Hae-gu of the Presidential Committee on Policy Planning and the congratulatory remarks by Chairperson Baek Jong-chun of the Sejong Institute and Unification Minister Cho Myoung-Gyon. The forum comprised of three sessions, each with the topic of  “Background and Significance in Agreeing to the Inter-Korean Summit” and “Strategy to Denuclearize the Korean Peninsula and to Dismantle the Cold War Structure” and “Political and Military Confidence-building Measures and Cooperation between the two Koreas.” Finally, the Forum ended with a wrap-up session that included policy recommendations from the participants based on the discussion of the former sessions.
