26th National Strategy Education Program: Opening Ceremony

On February 18, 2020, the Sejong Institute held the opening ceremony of the 26th National Strategy Education Program at the Institute. The program is run from February 18 to December 10, 2020 with a total of 100 government officials, including managerial-level officials at government departments and director-level staffs at public organizations participate in the program.

 

This training program intends to seek South Korea’s national strategy in the 21st century, understand national strategies of major countries surrounding the Korean peninsula, enhance officials’ policy management capabilities for advancing nation’s competitiveness, and to comprehend the current issues of Korea in order to seek appreciate solutions to the issue.

 

The curriculum is comprised of core and elective subjects, such as international relations, inter-Korean relations, economy, society, history, scientific technology and humanities etc. All participants also receive foreign language education (English, Chinese and Japanese) along with domestic and overseas field trip training programs which includes visiting key industrial sites and security-related fields. Overseas field trip training sessions allows trainees to experience reginal differences of foreign countries that are related to trainees’ topics by visiting relevant organizations and discussing issues and concerns. Trainees then refer to the discussions and information they have acquired to the regional response strategy and administrative work after returning to their departments.
