The second overseas training session for the trainees of the 25th Sejong National Strategy Education Program was held from September 16 to 26, 2019. This year’s training incorporated Living Lab, which utilizes technology to innovate daily tasks, for the first time. The training was conducted in the following four regions: Western Europe, Northern Europe, Southern Europe, and North America.

The Western Europe team, under the theme of “social issues,” visited Vienna Wien 3420 Aspern Development AG as well as various smart cities, such as Munich and Santander. They also had the opportunity to exchange ideas with experts about Living Lab. The Northern Europe team, under the theme of “health and well-being,” visited nursing home for the elderly in Praha and attended a lecture on the case of health care systems in the city of Bergen.

The Southern Europe team studied on the case related to the balance between the fourth industrial revolution and sociocultural problems at the UGR Media Lab. The North American team listened to presentations of Sidewalk Toronto about the smart city plan in partner with Google, and also had the opportunity to listen to presentations on future energy and semiconductor at Samsung headquarter in Silicon Valley.
