On Monday, September 23, 2024, the Sejong Institute held an opening ceremony to officially launch the third Sejong-KB ASEAN Young Leaders Program, designed to strengthen financial cooperation within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). This program, which first began in 2019, focuses on fostering human resource development and facilitating exchange between ASEAN member countries and Korean financial authorities.
The ceremony was attended by 16 participants from central banks, financial institutions, and government economic ministries representing Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand. They were welcomed by the Sejong Institute and introduced to the goals and structure of the program.
The trainees began their journey with online training from September 2 to 6, and will now spend approximately three months in Korea, until December 13. During this time, they will undergo global leadership training aimed at enhancing their understanding of finance, economics, Korea, and the broader world.
