On February 19, 2019, the Sejong Institute held the opening ceremony of the 25th National Strategy Education Program at the Institute. A total of 88 government officials, including managerial-level officials at government departments and directoral staffs at public organizations, participate in the program which runs from February 19 to December 11, 2019.
This training program intends to seek South Korea’s national strategy in the 21st century, understand national strategies of major powers surrounding the Korean Peninsula, enhance officials’ policy management capabilities for to advance nation’s competitiveness, comprehend current issues of Korea, and seek appropriate solutions to the issues.
The
program’s curriculum is composed of core and elective subjects such as, but not
limited to, international relations, national security, inter-Korean relations,
economy, society, history, science and technology, and humanities. Furthermore,
all participants receive foreign language education (English, Chinese, and Japanese)
and conduct domestic and overseas field trip programs to visit key industrial sites
and countries of interest to refer to prospective policy-making process on their
return to respective governmental organs.
