  Recent Events

On September 4, 2020, the Sejong Institute held the Opening Ceremony and Orientation for the 10th class of Sejong Academy for Young Leaders. Students will participate in bi-weekly (every Friday) lectures and discussion sessions to deepen their knowledge and understand issues related to diplomacy, national security, and unification. Due to continuing spread of COVID-19 and safety issues, the curriculum of the 10th class of Sejong Academy for Young Leaders will be proceeded in on-line (Zoom) form.

The 14th Sejong Colloquium of 2020

On September 8, 2020, the Sejong Institute held the fourteenth colloquium of this year. Dr. YANG Un-Chul, director of the Department of Unification Strategy Studies, presented his paper on the topic of “The Task of Integrating Statistics between the ROK and North Korea.”   

The 8th Sejong Policy Forum

On September 9, 2020, the Sejong Institute held the eighth Sejong Policy Forum on the topic of “Domestic Situations in the Four Neighboring Countries: Current Status and Issues” at the Somerset Palace located in Gwanghwamun, Seoul.   


[2020 NAPC Platform] 2nd Domestic Conference

“Nagasaki Conference on ROK-Japan Relations 2020” was held on September 17 (Thu.), 2020 through a video conference on the topic of “Peaceful Cooperation in Northeast Asia and Korea-Japan Relations in the COVID-19 Era.”

The Sejong-CFR Seoul Washington Forum, co-hosted by the Sejong Institute and the Council on Foreign Relations(CFR) and sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, was held on September 23, 2020 at the Westin Chosun Hotel Seoul as a virtual seminar.

On August 25 (Tue.), 2020, the Center for East Asian Cooperation of the Sejong Institute held an internal seminar. Dr. PARK Da Jung, a visiting research fellow of the institute, presented her paper on the topic of “The Impact of the Sino-Soviet Treaty of Friendship and Alliance (August 1945) on the U.S. Korea Policy.”
